Unorthodox is a word that describes something that is not orthodox, orthodox means usual, traditional or accepted, therefore unorthodox means unconventional, unusual, uncommon, out of the ordinary, non-conformist or original.
Unorthodox is a very interesting project to cover, it could mean so many different things and cover so many different genres. I think to break this down into more refined ideas I will have to make a mind map of all of the different ways to describe the word unorthodox, then I will have to branch off that my ideas, once I do this I can then pick a word that I feel fits best, and that I could work with better for this project.
Another thing the project brief asks us to consider is the use of alternative techniques and to broaden our understanding of different materials and processes, I think that this aspect of the project it would be useful to create another mind map, focusing on the different techniques materials and processes that can be used for this project. In this my mother will focus on techniques processes and materials that I have not used before and or I am not comfortable with, the artworks I create in relation to this project are to be different than any other that I have done before. This I will need an original approach I will need to research and look for different styles genres and movements of art that I have not researched focused on before.
