pouring Benji into silicone didn’t go exactly as planned, the silicone leaks from every angle of the mould. I’m not sure quite what went wrong but when pouring my next baby or anything made from silicone I will be sure to check the mould properly first. I hope to examine this Mauldin find out the root cause of this leakage.

We try to control the leak but it was very difficult in the end we ended up with clay and other objects stuffed all around it trying to stop it from leaking out. Unfortunately the clay seemed to absorb the silicone and became stretchy and strange. Luckily the silicone was beginning to set about half an hour to an hour in and our efforts seem to have worked in part.

The good thing was that because the silicone was leaping out the bottom there was not air bubbles, will not as many as to be expected so the pour was quite smooth, the only thing was there was a large scene all the way round, but it was easily cut off and sanded. I have not painted Benji as of yet because this is just a test sample, I just want to get the idea of it and then I can plan properly for the final piece.
